I feel like I haven’t posted anything in a while! I just moved into my new apartment in Brooklyn and it has been wild. Graduating RISD feels so exciting and I love fresh starts. I painted this little lion and his explorer friend two nights ago, and I’m thinking about writing a children’s book about these two. I also realized looking back at all the paintings I have been making since I got here that they are all of people exploring new places. I will post more of those soon!

(Excuse the bad quality, I have been in Los Angeles which is coincidentally far away from my scanner.)

This is a painting of my Grandmother, Olivia Dryland.  She grew up with thirteen brothers and sister in Saskatchewan, Canada. All thirteen of the brothers and sisters were amazing at cooking perogis and borscht (two incredible Ukranian dishes). My Grandmother Olivia grew up to be a nurse who dedicated her life to helping the elderly and dying. She was incredibly beautiful and could create incredible creations out of melons and fruits.
